Our Story
The salt marshes were to lend their name to the first village in the Roanoke Valley, which started on the east-west path as Gainsborough in 1834. The town soon came to be known as Big Lick. Big Lick Public House was opened in Roanoke in 1997, and after much success the Lynchburg store was opened in 1998. Today the Lynchburg store is the only location. We are fortunate to be part of such a supportive and wonderful community that has kept our local spot alive for more than 28 years.

Our mission is to give you a laid-back place to unwind. We pride ourselves on our warm, friendly service and casual beach theme. You can enjoy a wide range of menu items at a reasonable price. Guests love our popular fish tacos, wings, and unique alligator bites. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, we want you to sit back and feel right at home with our dedicated team.
Weekly Entertainment and Family Fun
We are proud to support local musicians by hosting live music and open mic nights four nights a week. There is never a cover charge to enjoy the entertainment. We also feature fun family nights on Tuesdays with kids' activities and karaoke. With multiple TVs and a large outdoor patio, we offer the perfect neighborhood gathering spot.
